Five years after its production the film «My Grandfather’s People» of the acclaimed Turkish director Çağan Irmak returns to its land of origin. The film is based on real events and as its director states: «It is a tribute to my grandfather and all other migrants who were forced out of their homes during the exchange of populations in 1923 and lived on with the longing to return to the place they were born». The public will also be given the opportuning to meet the film director Çağan Irmak, the photography director Gökhan Tiryaki and the actor Yiğit Özşener during the two film screenings at Chania and Heraklio.
